The plot centres around Aoi Ashito, a middle school kid who loves football and aspires to be a professional player. On the other side, his financial situation hinders him from pursuing his aspirations. However, Aoi does not let his current situation prevent him from accomplishing his ambition of being a pro.
His first break came when he was scouted by former player and J-league team coach Fukuda. Coach Fukuda, who seemed to recognize his latent potential, invited him to a tryout at Tokyo Esperion.
He was selected for the B team despite many challenges during the tryouts. But his problems don’t stop there. He is hardly able to manage with his teammates due to his lack of training.
Will this be the end of his journey, or will he overcome obstacles and become a pro?
Ao Ashi Episode 20: Quick Recap!
We witnessed a flashback scenario of Togashi, who was on trial in Tokyo Esperion in the previous episode. Despite never having played or trained with a legitimate club. He manages to perform decently and gain the faith of his teammates.
However, he quickly realizes that his teammates do not regard him as an equal, but rather as a player who can be used as needed. Togashi, who is still oblivious of the circumstances and fails to understand what is going on, adjusts his playstyle dramatically in their second game.
He realizes, after paying close attention, that the junior youth team manager was there to scout them. He gets into a heated disagreement with his teammates after witnessing the reality.
