The previously announced Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible anime adaptation has revealed a first teaser trailer as well as a premiere date of 2023. The series is being animated by PINE JAM (Glepinir).
The main cast, which includes Kana Hanazawa as Nagisa Kubo and Kengo Kawanishi as Junta Shiraishi, was previously announced, as was the first visual. In May of this year, the anime adaptation was announced. The anime’s main cast members are:
- Director: Kazuomi Koga (Rent-a-Girlfriend 2)
- Character Designs: Yoshiko Saito (chief animation director on Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation)
- Series Composition: Yuya Takahashi (Selection Prooject)
- Screenplay: Yuya Takahashi
Kubo-san wa Mobu o Yurusanai (Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible) is based ona manga by Nene Yukimori. The manga has been serialized by Shueisha since October 2019. Viz Media is publishing it in English, and describes the plot as:
When Kubo sits next to Shiraishi in their first year of high school, Shiraishi’s nonexistent social skills get a boost. Speaking up in class is only the beginning for Shiraishi—soon Kubo forces him to be noticed at school, at the bookstore, and all around town. Shiraishi’s once-lackluster life isn’t so dull anymore!
