‘Berserk,’ one of the most popular manga series drawn by the late Kentaro Miura, is finally returning this summer, according to the editing staff of Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine. The manga will continue with the 13th issue of Young Animal this year on June 24th, with the first six chapters marking the completion of the “Fantasia Arc/Elf Island Chapter.”
Young Animal, the comic book publisher that serialized Berserk, stated on Tuesday that the series will be continued under the supervision of Kouki Mori, a close friend of Miura’s and a manga artist in his own right. The manga will now be credited as follows: “Kentarou Miura’s original work, manga by Studio Gaga, supervised by Kouji Mori.”
Mori claims that he discussed the series extensively with Miura before his death and is aware of how Miura intended to conclude the Berserk plot. As a result, he intends to bring the manga to its natural conclusion with the help of several of Miura’s assistants. The formal announcement is below, along with remarks from Young Animal’s editorial staff and Mori:

“I think anyone with good intuitions would grasp by now that I know the tale for Berserk all the way through,” Mori said in a statement. He also said that Miura’s former assistants contacted him, stating they wanted to finish the author’s final chapters. Mori received everyone’s support and agreement to continue the story after reaching out to Young Animal.
Mori said, “I have a message and a commitment for everyone.” I’ll remember as many details as possible and relate the narrative. Also, I will not write about episodes that I do not recall vividly. I’ll only write the lines and stories Miura told me. Of sure, it will not be ideal. Still, I believe I can relate Miura’s narrative.”
According to the publishing house Young Animal, it is the “perfect approach” to bring Miura’s vision of Berserk to life. The publishers’ current aim is to finish the ongoing “Fantasia Arc/Elf Island Chapter” before beginning a new arc. That arc will almost certainly bring Berserk to a close. Berserk will return in an upcoming issue of Young Animal on June 24.
