Overgeared Chapter 144 shows Mr. Greed arrive to deliver shocking news. Damian’s return begins at Rebbecca Church Cathedral, where he meets Isabella and Lim. He notices Isabella is not feeling well since she is coughing up blood. Shin wonders why the room is so cold, and Lim discloses that Damian has returned a week earlier than scheduled.
Lim also admits that Isabella’s condition and his expectations are unrealistic. Damian understands he completed his mission early but is late because he invited Mr. Greed to meet them first. Lim is taken aback and wonders if Damian is referring to the Rebecca Church’s savior when he says Mr. Greed.
Lim wonders if the church’s savior will come to visit them. They are aware that Pascal, the church’s pope candidate, was the leader of the Juda Church. Lim believes that Pascal’s ancestry from the 5th Pope, Franz, lends legitimacy to the poison. Nothing can stop the Duke of the Empire from supporting Pascal as the next Pope. He decides to leave, knowing that Mr. Greed warned him about his departure the last time they met, and that it will take him three days to arrive. When Damian was about to leave, the mysterious voice of the lady told him not to. The lady assures Mr. Damian that she will complete the mission. Damian looks back and can’t believe Isabel is placing her health at risk for a purpose. He reminds her not to leave the room and that she needs three days to heal.
Isabel expresses her gratitude to Damian and encourages him to become the next Pope. She recognizes that if she does not assist him, the rogue will become Pope. Isabel believes that only Damian is capable of saving the children. Pascal and his supporters arrive, and he is relieved to see his competitor. He mocks Shin, claiming that if Damian is elected Pope, he will bring shame to their church. Isabel chastises Pascal for disrespecting the goddess Rebecca’s proxy and reminds him that it constitutes blasphemy. Pascal believes Isabel and Damian are church war machines.
