Medialink, a Hong Kong-based media content distribution company, has announced a collaboration agreement with MAPPA to distribute and licence the upcoming anime Chainsaw Man in Asia. At this time, no additional information has been disclosed.
Medialink’s anime distribution service includes the brand Ani-One, which simulcasts new anime titles and distributes older series across its partner platforms. Netflix, Aniplus Asia, Animax Asia, iQIYI, and Bilibili are among their partners. They also have a YouTube account where you can watch free legal anime series.
Medialink is excited to bring this highly anticipated title from MAPPA to the whole of Asia. We believe our anime fans are as excited as we are, and Chainsaw Man is one of the most awaited titles in 2022 by the fan communities across the region, and will definitely create a big hit wave. Studio MAPPA will produce the animation for the Chainsaw Man series. The series is directed by Ryu Nakayama, with character designs overseen by Kazutaka Sugiyama. Kiyotaka Oshiyama is in charge of the monster designs, and Kensuke Ushio is in charge of the series music. Crunchyroll will also stream the anime later this year, as previously announced. According to Crunchyroll, the series is as follows:
Denji is a teen who lives with Pochita, a Chainsaw Devil. Due to his father’s debt, he has been living in abject poverty while repaying his obligation by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita. Denji is betrayed and killed one day. As his consciousness fades, he strikes a deal with Pochita and is resurrected as “Chainsaw Man.” a man with a devil’s heart.
