Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Hunter x Hunter, just opened a Twitter account, hinting that he is currently working on new manga chapters for the popular series. Many fans were surprised by this announcement because there had been no hint of a Hunter x Hunter return from any official source, including the Japanese magazine Shonen Jump, where the manga is regularly published.
Nonetheless, several sources confirmed the mangaka’s Twitter profile’s authenticity, and the account soon gained followers. Yoshihiro Togashi has 2.1 million Twitter followers as of this writing, making him the most followed manga artist on the famous social media website.
Kohei Horikoshi, the creator of one of the most popular anime and manga series, My Hero Academia, is the second most followed mangaka on Twitter. Kohei began using Twitter in June 2014 and now has 2.1 million followers. Hiro Mashima, the creator of the Fairy Tail and Edens Zero series, is the third most followed mangaka on Twitter. They joined the Twitter network in May 2012 and have 1.7 million followers.
Yom is Twitter’s fourth most following manga artist. Douki to Tawawa and Ganbare, Douki-chan are their most well-known works. Sui Ishida, the creator of Tokyo Ghoul, is the fifth most followed artist on Twitter. Since joining Twitter in 2010, they have gained 1.3 million followers.
It should be noted that the mangaka behind the Naruto, Dragon Ball, Bleach, and One Piece series has no social media accounts. It will be interesting to see how many followers they will gain if they create a Twitter account now.
