One of the better parts of the One Piece series is the balance of power between the protagonist and antagonist. At no point in the series do fans get the impression that the protagonist’s victory was not earned. When it comes to the most dangerous threats Luffy has to face time and again, the Navy is at the top of the list. Admirals of the Navy are regarded as unbeatable justice warriors. Have you ever wondered what these admirals would look like in our world?
Envi2Hands, a Reddit user, attempted to appease our curiosity by sharing his creation of real-life admirals. He used the artbreeder program’s artificial intelligence to bring these anime characters to life. The post was shared on the One Piece subreddit and has already received over 3.7k upvotes. Admiral Akainu, Fujitoro, Kizaru, and the former Admiral Akainu can all be seen.
Another interesting fact is that all of the admirals drawn by One Piece’s creator are based on real-life actors. In fact, Akainu is based on a Japanese actor named Bunta Sugawara, whom Oda regards as the most beautiful man on the planet. Yasaku Matsuda, the late Japanese actor, is confirmed to be the inspiration for Aokiji. Kizaru is based on the death of Japanese actor Kunie Tanaka in 2021.
What are your thoughts on these real-life AI-based One Piece characters? Who knows, with the rapid advancement of AI, we might see a real-life One Piece action movie without any’real-life’ actors. The upcoming One Piece film “One Piece Red” is set to be released in Japan on August 6.
The anime One Piece is based on the manga of the same name, written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. Since 1997, he has been publishing the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump. The manga has received over 1000 chapters so far. Toei Animation has already produced over 1000 episodes of an anime series. Netflix is currently in the process of creating a live-action series based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga.
